Fact check: Roy Carter’s false and desperate smear campaign
Last week the Carter campaign released a bogus TV ad that smears Virginia Foxx’s record of support for our veterans. This ad is chock full of false statements by the Carter campaign.
Check out Carter’s ridiculous claims and learn the real truth about Virginia’s steadfast support for North Carolina’s veterans. It’s clear that Carter won’t let anything get in the way of his desperate smear campaign—especially the truth.
Carter’s false smear: “Foxx was given a grade of D by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.”
The truth: Congresswoman Foxx was given a grade of B by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. She was one point away from getting an A grade.
Carter’s false smear: “A zero rating by the Disable American Veterans”
The truth: The Disabled American Veterans gave Congresswoman Foxx a 100% rating for the 110th Congress.
Carter’s false smear: “and voted against expanding the GI Bill.“
The truth: Congresswoman Foxx strongly supports an expanded GI Bill. Not only did she vote for the expanded GI Bill on June 19, 2008 (Roll Call 432), she was also a proud cosponsor of this important legislation. This bill was signed into law on June 30, 2008.
