Virginia Foxx Wins Republican Primary

Clemmons, NC - Congresswoman Virginia Foxx won the Republican primary for North Carolina's 5th Congressional District tonight. Congresswoman Foxx now advances to face the Democrat challenger in the general election in November.

Congresswoman Foxx released the following statement after the results of the election were no longer in doubt:

"Tonight I am honored to be elected by the Republican Party to seek a fourth term representing the 5th District of North Carolina in Congress.

Boone, NC - U.S. Representative Virginia Foxx today filed for re-election at the Watauga County Board of Elections. She will be running for re-election in North Carolina's Fifth Congressional District, which she has represented in Congress since 2005.

Foxx announces plans to run for reelection

Clemmons, NC - Congresswoman Virginia Foxx today announced that she will run for reelection for North Carolina's Fifth Congressional District. Foxx has represented the Fifth District in Congress since 2005.

"Representing the people of North Carolina's Fifth District in Congress is a great honor, Foxx said. "During this era of record deficits I promise to continue to hold Washington accountable and rein in its reckless spending and wasting of taxpayers' hard-earned money.
